Doctors Working in Deprivation

Professor Graham Watt, from the University of Glasgow, who coordinates General Practitioners at the Deep End in Scotland, said: “Recruitment and retention of GPs are becoming crisis issues as a result of pressures on and within practices, particularly in deprived areas.

Shared Health Foundation is following the lead of Professor Graham Watt and wants to set up a network for doctors working in deprived communities in Greater Manchester.

This network aims to provide GPs with the opportunity to share good practice and discuss the challenges they face with a view to finding solutions.
